Center for Onchocerciasis Diagnostics Focus
At the Center for Onchocerciasis Diagnostics, we are dedicated to conducting in-depth research on the epidemiology, diagnosis, and surveillance of onchocerciasis. Our team is committed to making significant contributions to the field of public health through our research efforts. Our goal is to provide valuable laboratory support and training to participating onchocerciasis elimination programs across the globe through collaborations with philanthropic organizations and other infectious disease support entities contributing to the global health efforts to protect against this debilitating disease known as river blindness.

The Center's website provides access to laboratory manuals and SOPs for testing at risk populations for the level of exposure to Onchocerca volvulus using the Ov16 ELISA, as well as vector surveillance testing using the O150 PCR-ELISA. These laboratory manuals and Quality Control and Quality Assurance protocols are available to download in English, French, Portuguese, and Spanish for your convenience. Training documents and videos may be located under the training and educational materials tab.
We are an open access website dedicated to disseminating training materials and providing support to onchocerciasis elimination programs through the assistance of our collaborating partners (The Carter Center, The End Fund, Sightsavers & the Mectizan Donation Program).
